Ironing Board Makeover

Ok... I agree. This looks pretty nasty but give me a break.
It's the original cover that came with the ironing board,
and it's about 25 years old.
A new cover would
probably be appropriate.

First I purchased special heat resistant fabric from JoAnn's
that could be used on ironing boards.

I laid out the fabric on the floor and simply cut around the
ironing board. Once this was finished,
I used the same process to cut out my cotton fabric.

I serged the two layers together and simply turned the edge
under to form a casing.

Using the orginal cord from the old cover, I inserted a
safety pin and worked it through the casing.

Ah! That's better!

May you always Sew in Peace!
