One Flower Wednesday - Week 6

Another week. Another One Flower Wednesday!

Two more flowers to add to my garden!

I'm finally on a roll with this project and thought I'd
share some storage tips that I'm using for my
flower garden.
Last year I found this handy little tin at JoAnn Fabrics and was
lucky enough to be able to use a 50% off coupon when I bought it.
It does not appear to currently be available at JoAnn's online but
if you are interested, it is available on the Fons and Porter website.

Inside my tin I can pack several bobbins of thread,
scissors, needles, a seam ripper, and enough
petals to make a flower. I try to keep this tin in my
purse so I can work whenever I get a few minutes.
Since my husband and I travel alot for our jobs,
I can make quite a few petals in the car each week.

Our local Hobby Lobby carries a plasic container
that is perfect for storing hexies.
 I enjoy laying out potential
fabric combinations for the flowers.

This black bag came from our local
thrift store. It is perfect for carrying all my supplies,
especially when I travel.

Hope this gives you a few ideas to make
growing your garden more enjoyable.
What items do you use to store the fabrics for your hexagon projects?

May you always Sew in Peace!

  1. Lovely flowers. Great ideas for carrying around your hexies & sewing notions.

  2. Hello Sandra, Thanks for your sweet message--I am having fun!

We will be taking a long weekend road trip soon and I love your "clever" tips using your take-alongs all neat and tidy for traveling. Love the little tin you purchased at "JoAnn's Fabrics"-- I will gather up items also, so that I can hand stitch the flowers while we travel through the country side to Galena, Ill. The leaves should be in their peek, so maybe I won't get as much done as I want to! :)

Your flowers are pretty and the prints and colors you are using are right up my alley!

    :) Carolyn

  3. Beautiful flowers!! Thanks for all of the great storage ideas. I especially like how you store all of your petals!

  4. I love your flowers. The color combinations are great and your work looks meticulous. I love the storage bin for your hexies. I store everything in regular plastic tubs. Something more custom fitting would be nice. Great idea.

  5. I love your colours used the hexagons. I too found a great little case for my hexagons.

  6. sandra, thank you for your compliments on my blog.
Your hexagonflowers are very beaytiful too, and everything so good organised, you are my example.
    Greetings from Joke

  7. Your flowers look really beautiful! That is one project I would like to start this winter once I have my sewing room back together. I like your neat idea for storage and travel. Hope to see you soon :)
