The focus of this month's Sew*Quilt*Share meeting was cutting...
lots of cutting! In fact, there was a great deal of both tracing and cutting
as our group prepared to host a community wide sewing event called
Pad Palooza!
Pad Palooza!
The past few years our group has been sewing cloth feminine pads
that are both washable and reusable for Mission Possible to distribute
to school girls in the rural areas of Haiti. If you are unfamiliar with our
cloth feminine pad project, you can learn more about it here.
The focus of the entire meeting was to prepare for Pad Palooza.
Patterns were traced and cut.
Since we had no idea how many from the community would attend,
our group decided to prepare 100 pad kits in advance.
During the event, this would enable those with sewing machines to focus on sewing,
while other groups of volunteers would be able to focus on cutting more kits.

May you always Sew in Peace!

What a wonderful cause. We have a group that does this, also! I wish Cricut or something like that would develop a cutting template for the parts... I get blisters after each cutting session. We serge our edges, do you?
